#reverb13 Day 16: Habits and addictions

Today’s post and image come from master wordsmith and craft beer connoisseur, Michael Douglas Jones. How Michael manages to make 140 characters come alive with all the glory and agony that it is to be human remains a mystery to me… you’ll just have to follow him on twitter to see what I mean.

Michael writes:

Habits and addictions, some are silly, some serious; when we have issues without answers, they can hold us so tight that we stop moving forward with the life we intended.

Were you able to loosen those fetters this year, and if you were successful, how did you manage it? Did you accept outside help, or work alone?

If you still feel that grasp of addiction or hurtful habits, what will you do differently in the year to come?

What a great prompt and a good questions.  As a social worker I have worked with many amazing people who have faced and overcome some tough addictions.

For me, as I ponder the questions my silly side comes out with the obvious addiction to Dark Chocolate (but does this one really count?)

http://www.foodservicedirect.com/productimages/NF1106228S.jpg These specifically until my grocery store stopped carrying them a couple of months ago – yes I think I was the cause of the shortage.

OMG!!!  I just looked up their website – to give ya’ll a link and to face my fear that they quit making my favorite chocolate bar and do you know what I found – Heaven !!!

This goes on the wish list for sure – A monthly chocolate club!!!  What! monthly-riot-club.  This feels like those billboards you see as your driving towards gambling towns where there is a big slot machine and little bitty words underneath that say, “if you have a problem call…”

Lol,
