guest co host today is the seal Armstrong, the founder of inspired by Indigo.
Unknown Speaker 0:51
Hello, thank you so much for having me on. My name is Cecile Armstrong, I’m a social justice and self care facilitator, I teach anti racism, integrated with self care. My motto is no blame, no shame, no guilt, because those emotions get in the way of learning and I am all about getting the change in behavior and getting results.
Christine Gautreaux 1:13
I am so glad to have you with me today. We of course are missing our friend and colleague Shanna Mitchell who is celebrating a special anniversary today. So having a good time, we want to give a shout out to Shannon and Pharaoh and say Happy Happy anniversary. And thank you for taking care of yourselves and each other. Because that’s what wellness is all about. So how are you my friend?
Unknown Speaker 1:38
I am good. I am so glad to be going into a new year. I am so glad to be done with 2021. How are you?
Christine Gautreaux 1:46
I am so well you. We’ve talked about this but the listeners may not know, one of my practices when I wrap up a year I’ve done it for years with myself and with my clients is that we go back and we do a year review where we look at all the pictures and all our count. I used to just do calendar and I realized how much of my life I missed when I didn’t look great my pictures. I take pictures of things to help me remember but also when I capture joy. And so. So I invite people to look at their calendars to look at their pictures, and to write it all down. Like what personal wins. What were your professional wins? What were some of your challenges, you know, what you want to create? And I just have to say, one of my number one wins for 2021 was meeting you, my friends.
Unknown Speaker 2:37
Ah, I’d say the same thing. I can’t believe we haven’t known each other a year yet.
Christine Gautreaux 2:42
That that’s the other thing about doing this practice. Like it shocks you. You’re like, wow, that all happened last year or no? No, that person. So that was yeah, that was the magic of last year. And we do need to give a shout out to our friend Paul Zelizer over the community because he reached out and said, Hey,
Unknown Speaker 3:05
y’all need to know each other.
Unknown Speaker 3:14
Right, right. Well, did you have any practices or rituals that you did to wrap up the year?
Unknown Speaker 3:24
I like to go back and look at my calendar and my pictures like you do. Because I have a tendency to focus on the future and think of all the things that I have yet to do. And since I started going back and looking at my calendar and remembering the things that I did, that kind of balances me out and instead of like beating myself up for not, not doing enough, and not being far enough along, I look back and go oh, wait a minute. I did love shit. I got stuff done. Yeah,
Christine Gautreaux 3:52
look at the hundreds of 1000s of incremental steps you took last year. And some of the big leaps to writing. And I kind of felt the same way. Because if I had gone just off my emotions at the end of the year, which was a right, I was right. But when I started looking back, I was like, Whoa, yeah, whoa, there’s a lot happened in this year. I was joking with a friend that said if I just looked at my pictures alone, I took 1000s of pictures of beautiful flowers and places and and if we just went off that alone 2021 was a beautiful year like I know there’s more to it right? We have to look for the good in order to sustain us when right happens. I was I’m really grateful for that practice. And I like to kind of wrap the year and still you know identify what Who do I still want to be hanging out with
Unknown Speaker 4:53
a big one. What kind of energy do you want to bring with you? What kind of energy do you need to let go? Yeah,
Christine Gautreaux 4:59
And who do I want to collaborate with? Because I have so many amazing women collaborators, you know, where do I, what do I want to do what I want to create in 2022? So I know you have been working on some pretty awesome stuff. Yeah, fair with our listeners, before we jump into our talk today, we kind of go with our topic, because our topic kind of does. So what you’re up to?
Unknown Speaker 5:25
I sure, sure do, I sure will. And I actually started a membership site around anti racism, I had a blog for well over a year, and I finally finally figured out that blogging was not the format for me, because I had so many other things that I wanted to do other than just make a post and have people comment. And so um, you know, we were working together on learning how to create a membership site, and I did a soft launch for mine. And I’m so so excited about it. The response that I’m getting from my founding members, is amazing, all the things, all the things, literally everything that I worry about, and say, I’m not sure if this is right, I don’t know if this is gonna work, somebody contacts me and says, Thank you for doing it this way, because this works for me. And so being able to put up you know, the videos and make the handouts and create things, I’m learning how to do closed captioning, because I’m trying to make sure I’m being inclusive. And, like, seriously, everything that I worry about with my with, with how I’m teaching, anti racism, somebody comments, and says, Thanks for doing that. And that just like is just like validation of everything that I’m doing down to down to, you know, that I started everything with self care. I don’t, I don’t do anything without hands when people get into their bodies first. Because if you’re not in your body, that’s when you’re off balance, and you’re going to be very reactive. And so as my first self care lesson was about belly breathing, and I remember when I posted it, I was like, people are gonna think this is too basic. And they’re gonna think that I’m babying them. And I was like, but it really is foundational. And so I posted it. And then someone who has followed me for years said, Thank you for that. I didn’t know about belly breathing. I didn’t know how to do that. And I was like, wait a minute, you’ve been following me for years. And I talk about belly breathing all the time. But they were like, This is amazing. This is transformational. So that was just confirmation that giving people you know, the baby steps and the foundational stuff works. And people want it.
Christine Gautreaux 7:26
I think, well, yes, yes, as a member of your community, I want to go check it out. It’s phenomenal. And we will put the link in our show notes today to find you can find out more about Cecile and her community. But what I realize is, you know, foundational things are important for so many reasons. But we we need to be reminded it doesn’t matter. It’s all about the practice of it, right? If we’re not doing the foundational things, we can get off balance, just like you said, about being out of our bodies, or out of our self care or community care. Yes, to where it’s unsustainable, like, we just want to go and hide under the covers and pull the covers over our head. Yeah, we have tools and techniques and people in communities like this one, where we have ways that we don’t have to do that, you know, it’s okay, don’t get me wrong, if you need to go hide under the covers for a couple hours, or maybe even a day or two. It’s like, you know, we have ways to say come on back out, girl, you gotta like, you gotta let the world needs to hear about so.
Unknown Speaker 8:34
Yeah, well, I’ll just say the whole, the whole point of the community that I’m creating, and the membership that I’m creating, the whole point of inspired by Indigo is to be able to sustain your participation in social justice, because it’s so easy to get burnt out. It’s so easy to get discouraged. And the way I have it set up is so that you have you create a habit so that you make it this part of your life. And it’s not something you have to push yourself to do. You know, making it sustainable is what makes it work.
Christine Gautreaux 9:02
Right? Well, and especially for white people and white women, quote, unquote, have the choice of anti racism work or not. Y’all we don’t have a choice. It’s all of our work to do to make this world a better place. And equality and justice. So well, I’m getting on a soapbox. I’m gonna get off, get off topic today and bring our guests on because I’m very excited to share her with you and our audience. Shannon and I did the pre interview way back in 2021. And so we’ve been waiting on this interview. And let me tell you what we’re talking about today. So we are talking about occupational wellness. You know, here on the women connected in with some podcasts we talk about the eight dimensions of wellness, and every week we bring up a new one, because just like we were talking about Cecile with foundational issues, if we don’t look at them on a regular basis It’s so easy to drop one or let it go or not remember, oh yeah, that’s important, right? This one’s at the top of mind with the holidays being over, and people heading back to work a lot of people hadn’t back to work. This week, we’re gonna talk about occupational wellness. occupational wellness represents the feeling of purpose and productivity in one’s chosen profession. This pillar is certainly a key element to what we refer to as work life balance. As an enriched and productive professional life is certainly required to mesh with a healthy personal life. We got to be true in the movie,
Unknown Speaker 10:39
right? Because if you don’t like your work, right, it can feel like a huge part of your life.
Christine Gautreaux 10:46
Well, not just that I’m excited to introduce our guest, because not only does she tell us about the work she’s done in the past, but she tells about doing it from a feminine perspective. Yeah. And I’m, I’m just gonna read her bio and bring her up because I want to I want to get to the conversation sooner than later because I’m really excited about it. Julie foutch decided when she needed to take her coaching business seriously, she hired a high end coach and learn to market like a man would that brings up images right away that Mitt tripled her income in less than a year, but felt drained, uninspired and restless. Hmm, we’re gonna have to ask her about that. My guess is probably she was doing another full time job at the same time. But that’s let’s let’s ask her. Urged by spirit she embraced her essential feminine and birth the new way the art of feminine business. Today, Julie teaches female coaches teachers and healers who are frustrated with traditional formulas how to build six figure businesses that honor their feminine essence. Julie’s clients report having clear vision of their divine purpose, greater passion for their work, the skills to be attracting the perfect clients and are being paid well for their gifts. Julie received her coaching certificate. My tongue doesn’t work in 2020. Do y’all see her coach certification in 2006. From the coaches training institute, she has served on the boards of numerous nonprofits, and was named Woman of the Year by the professional women’s network of the Monterey Peninsula in 2013. She is married to the love of her life has four children, two stepchildren, two Furry Babies and eight spoiled grandchildren. We want to welcome to the stage to leave out. Hey, Julie, thank you. Thank you for having me. We are so delighted to kick off the new year with this conversation. Yeah,
Unknown Speaker 12:47
me too. And I’m already inspired by what you were saying. Even before I jumped on here, so yay for all of this.
Christine Gautreaux 12:57
So I want to ask you about this about your shift from marketing, lack of man to the art of feminine. And you know, when I read it, I definitely and I had read your bio a couple of times, and I hadn’t like but I had this reaction when I read it online. When I think about especially women, right? We Yes, we have jobs, and most women I know are also caregivers. Yeah, they are caregiving parents, they are caregiving animals, children, spouses, their siblings, their communities, a lot of them multiple things at once, which can be a whole nother job. So So talk to us about how do we do this? How do we do it in a feminine way? How do we do it and make money? How do we how do we do it? Julie? Yeah,
Unknown Speaker 13:47
I think we start by looking at why we work as men. Right. And when women entered the workplace, in big numbers, was sometime in the 1980s women started to really join the workplace. And the mentors we had to aspire to were all men. And so women learn to work like men. And you can look at the 80s at just the clothing, the big shoulder pads. Right. Like, we would take the shoulder pads and like stuff to have them in there so that so that even our bodies looked more like we’re shaped more like men’s bodies. And, and that worked for a while. But when we look at who women are how we’re designed. We’re frankly biologically designed differently. We have less testosterone. We have regular cycles. We are designed to be in community in connection. I mean women are not designed to compete with each other. We’re designed to all service around the fire, watch everybody’s kids, while we grind corn, not to be off in our own corner going, my Gorn is my? Well, we’re not taught that none of that we are taught to be in competition, we are taught to grind to crush it, to ramp up and push until we drop dead. And you know what? We are dropping dead because of that. Right?
Christine Gautreaux 15:31
That is so true. We’ve had this conversation on the show before women, especially women of color, especially women of color, who are activist are like some of the highest
Unknown Speaker 15:43
have the highest incidence of like heart disease and stuff, too. Yeah,
Unknown Speaker 15:47
absolutely hurts.
Unknown Speaker 15:48
It just hurts. So when we come back to looking at how women are designed to work, and then we begin to build our business around that, it becomes a much more holistic thing. Now the key for me, and what I teach my clients is the very first key is how do you tap into source energy? How do you connect with who you were born to be? As a soul, a divine soul in a human body having a human experience? And how do we cross back and forth between being the soul and being the human being? Sometimes, I have found this really interesting, I had one client, and her soul just couldn’t get like, why are you in a human body? We have worked
Unknown Speaker 16:41
those days before.
Unknown Speaker 16:45
bodies need a certain amount of sleep. Right? Right. So so we start there, and we do that connection, and and we really begin to tap into what’s my soul really longing for? What is my sole purpose for being on the planet? And then how do I execute that as a human woman in a human body. And this translates to men as well. I personally just, I work with women only. And so I speak in terms of women. So then we translate it. So there’s a couple of things to understand. Number one is how we work in cycles. We work in a monthly cycle, we work in a yearly cycle. And we have to know our own cycles. For a lot of women, we can track it with the moon, right? I’ve had clients. So this is really interesting. Because really, when you follow the moon cycles, your inward time, the drop in your energy happens in the new moon, you’re most energetic and attractive in the full moon. But I’ve had clients who have switched it. So their most energetic time might be within the womb, the moon is waning, and their least energetic might be when the moon is waxing. Right? So they shift it. So there’s this general rule about following the moon. And then you have to look and say, Okay, and what is my cycle? Where am I in this? And then you also when you’re planning your business, and this is so important, I loved what you guys were saying, you guys, you guys, California thing. I love what you guys were saying about looking back at all you’ve accomplished. And as you’re looking back and all you accomplished, you can actually look at what was happening during the different months as your year. So I know for me, like right about August, I’m ready for a break. I’m done. Right? So I’m not going to be launching in August, right? Probably going to be doing a retreat with clients in August. Because that’s something that will fuel me. And when I do retreats, here’s a business trick. For those of you doing retreats. When I do a retreat, we go someplace fabulous, often where we’ve never been before because you know, that’s what business is like. You’re always going someplace you’ve never been before. And then we retreat. I do my healing work. We transform the clients, we send them home. My husband, who is a big part of my business flies out, and I take a week and for the first two or three days, it’s all about him pampering me. He chooses everything. He provides meals he drives. He’s like we’re going we’re going to cut across the East Coast today and I’m like, Go Baby, I’m just gonna sit here. You want to stop for doughnuts? I’m up for doughnuts, right? So I get my time but I know that August is a really great time for me. do that, because my energy around launchings not there. And I know that because I’ve been doing this business for like 1718 years. I also know that the month of December, I don’t want to market. Yeah, I have no desire to market them. So, and I know that January, my energy just pops. Right? For a lot of people, they, they, they don’t get their energy back until spring. And that’s okay. So you’ve got to know where your energy is, you’ve got to know when you’re going to pop. And then you can be like, ooh, if I’m popping in January, I’m launching in January. I’m going to be promoting a program there.
Christine Gautreaux 20:47
That’s And can I ask a real quick question? How would you translate that to our listeners who maybe are not entrepreneurs or business owners who are going at work? Or like, would that be the time that they ask for the raise? Or would that be that like, how would that translate to folks who are not in charge of their own businesses?
Unknown Speaker 21:08
Right? That’s a great question. So you’ve got to first start with your monthly, your monthly cycle, notice when your most energetic is it when there’s a full moon. Often, that’s when it is, that’s when you’re going to be the most magnetic, that’s when you’re going to have the most success asking for what you want. That’s when, you know, your boss is going to love you more. And and in the new moon, that’s the time period where you’re going to be tapping into your own power, when you’re going to be connecting with who you really are. That’s when you’re going to be planning and listening. And in my world, we call it getting the downloads, right? Hmm, that’s when source is speaking to you. And, and so you don’t in that downtime, you don’t want to walk in and be like, Okay, I don’t have any energy, but I needed, I need a raise, right? Because that will translate into
Unknown Speaker 22:13
sounds like that’s the time when you’re basically figuring out what it is that you really want. And you’re just kind of being quiet, so that you can get clear.
Unknown Speaker 22:21
And it also may be the time where you’re thinking, Do I even want to stay in this job? Or is this a job that I’m going to be in for the next year. But I see the bigger picture here, I’m starting to see where I want to go from here. Right. So that really is the planning, the listening the bean time. And it’s also the time where maybe you want to sleep more, you want to refresh your body and you want to give yourself that space. So maybe that’s not the time where you’re going to be out there doing three networking events. And, you know, taking on extra work, stop to show up and do the work, right. But it may not be the time where you’re like, Yes, I’m the one to take that extra project.
Christine Gautreaux 23:11
That’s such a good thing to notice. I love that. I know that I’m I mean, it’s been years it was pre pandemic, when I was at the speaking at the parliament of world religions, I had the opportunity to be a part of the red tent, which I’m sure both of y’all know about that movement. And talking about the same thing with the cycles and you know, used to women would have a red tent. And when they were on their cycle, they would retreat, and they would be together and they would read and relax and commute. So it kind of feels like that goes in with what you’re talking about. Julie is knowing ourselves and planning accordingly.
Unknown Speaker 23:51
Absolutely. And you know, there are places like if you’ve got children, you got little kids. You can’t say to them, this is mommy’s week, go away features. Great week, you give yourself a break, and you make macaroni and cheese one night, and you say you know what, this is mommy’s week. So I’m going to do something I normally don’t do and we’re going to watch a movie on Wednesday. You know, instead of no screen time this week, right? I’m going to engage you in other ways. One of the things I have a friend She’s She kind of introduced me to this stuff. She was a client at the time and I just adore her. And she has her son make altars. So she’s like, you know, this is our inward time. Why don’t you go make an altar and he named altars. It’s fabulous. So you know, there are ways where you’re going to engage your kids and this is our downtime, and you teach them to respect them. own rhythms when you’re respecting your rhythm. So the prime rib dinner, you wait for the full moon to do that.
Christine Gautreaux 25:08
I’ve been waiting about 50 years for that one. I made two full moons back to back. I love that. Julie, I love that, that inner wisdom, how did it shift things for you when you started doing your business that way? Oh, it
Unknown Speaker 25:27
shifted everything. So when, way back when the housing market crashed here in California, and across the rest of the country, my husband had a land use company that he was running, and all the work disappeared. And all of a sudden, I had to make money with my coaching practice. So I jumped in, you had this in my bio, I hired a coach, I learned all the formulas and learn to market like a man I learned to push myself I learned to work 12 hour days. And I did really, really well. But I was hiding so much of who I was. And I hadn’t been I had been invited to join a mastermind group of six and seven figure leaders in the industry. I was about $7,000, short of my first $100,000 year. Oh, wow. Did your year. And it was October. So of course I could do that. Right? I just had to push a little harder. And source said, I’m trying to stop and I said no push and source said stop. And I said push. And so source sent a big pickup truck to ram into the back of my car. And I was laid up for two or three months like literally lay on ice, do a client called Go lay on ice. And what happened during that space was little voice started Western whispering to me, you’ve got to start listening, there’s a better way for women. There’s another way to do this. Meanwhile, this mastermind group, I was meeting woman after woman who said, I built a six figure business and got adrenal fatigue, I built a seven figure business and ended up with breast cancer. I built a multi seven figure business and came home from a speaking gig and couldn’t get out of my car, and then getting it up to this anymore. I just can’t. Meanwhile, we had men going, I just did this big launch my team and I worked seven weeks and 15 hour days. And sometimes I was on the phone so on. I couldn’t even get up to go to the bathroom. And I was like, Whoa, I hear you I’m going to do it a different way. And what I discovered was when I started to bring all of me into the business, when I started to honor who I was, everything changed and I sent an email. This was the first email where I said, Hey, I’m a little bit woowoo. And I said, sometimes I’ll even draw a tarot card in the middle of a coaching call, and my clients don’t know it. And like we were at a Mountain House. And I’m on one side of the dining room table in the morning, my husband’s on the other. And I’m crying tears are coming out of my eye. And and he’s like, are you sure that you want to send that email? Because I knew it was going to crash my business. No one was ever gonna hire me if they knew I have tarot cards on my desk, right? And I just went off to and I pushed the button. And something clicked. And I got more emails back from that than I’ve ever gotten in my whole business career. Clients started to drop in well that I stopped hiding out. I started telling people about the past lives that I remember that I had lived as witches. And as nuns pretty similar. You know, nuns had the sanction to do miracles, which is got burned at the stake for doing miracles. And he lived several lives like that. And I started talking about it, people were like, I want to be in your world. And it was this revelation that I didn’t have to hide who I was. I didn’t have to hide anything about myself in order to have the right client show up. And I’ve had clients come back to me after yours and say, you know this one thing you said to me, changed my life forever. I’ve also had people come back and say, I’ve been on your list for seven years. I’m ready to hire you. How much do I write the check for and that kind of ease before I would push like for every client and be like you know, get on the phone with me and do this and do that. That kind of ease opened up for me.
Christine Gautreaux 29:58
I love I love that story so much, Julie. And I know you’re talking to seal a nice language. Yeah. Dropping in the history, you know, the the the history of I know it’s on your website. And I know you just made reference to it here. But the history of women often hiding because there is a history of them being persecuted when they were seen. You know, in the United States, it was not burning, it was mostly hanging. But in Europe, I mean, hundreds of 1000s of women were lost over a period of about 500 years. And that history was lost. And I think it has come down through our DNA about hiding. How do you help women be seen, because I, I’ve watched several people unleash them today, and Cecile, and I’ve been having this conversation too. But the ability is really coming up for a lot of women this year.
Unknown Speaker 31:02
That’s one of my themes for this year. So when I saw what you were talking about, and I checked out your website, I was like, oh, yeah, I need to listen to her.
Unknown Speaker 31:11
You know, what’s really fun about that, is that yesterday, my photographer was here. She’s a really great friend of mine. She’s one of the best transformational photographers I? Well, she’s the best I’ve ever met. And when you see her work, you’re like that. So Lindsay, that’s a Lindsay Miller
Unknown Speaker 31:29
is up, because I was talking about how awesome your photographer is, when I looked at your website didn’t say that. cusine. I said, our photographer is amazing.
Christine Gautreaux 31:38
She’s, you’ll drop her website in the comments, or private chat to us, we will put it in our show notes for our listeners so they can find
Unknown Speaker 31:48
your ticket. Sorry to interrupt, but I just wanted to say, Yeah, I noticed her work.
Unknown Speaker 31:52
Yeah, I think her website is wildly visible.com. But I’ll look for it and make sure.
Unknown Speaker 31:59
Yeah,
Unknown Speaker 32:00
so we’re talking about this visibility thing. And we’re talking about if it’s in your DNA, if you have inherited the belief that the invisible with your power, and your magic is going to get you killed, you’re constantly going to be fighting against yourself. I think the first step is just recognizing that exists in us. And anyone who’s doing anything that that exists, you know, women are magic, women can create life, guys don’t get to create life, women create life, that’s magic to start with. And so recognizing that is the first step. Now what I do is I will, I have a couple things I do, first of all, a work with the different parts of people, I was just doing this earlier with a client, the different parts that want to keep you stuck, that want to keep you invisible, and we work with that part to create a different role for it. So that it will allow you to be visible and still stay safe. Because it’s all about safety and love, right. The other thing I’ll do is I’ll actually hop into the Akashic records. And we’ll look for where the where’s the ancient vow? The the part of your soul that 1000s of years ago said, I will never again, put myself in this position. And we release those vows. Often will will drop them into mama Earth. And she’s great at composting that that stuff up? Can I come on your show?
Unknown Speaker 33:34
I did good. Yes, you.
Unknown Speaker 33:39
Our holes here, really
Unknown Speaker 33:43
close the hell out of that shit. And really, the energy of the earth and dropping those contracts in and letting mama Earth take them apart and reform them is great. Sometimes we just flat out will burn them. I do a lot of ritual with my clients. And if the client is in person will actually write the bow down and we’ll put it in the burn bowl, and we’ll release it. And through working in the records. We do a process where we release it across all time space dimensions, plains have been and beyond so it doesn’t come back. Now the value of this work is that the more women who are doing it, the more women who are releasing their vows of staying silent and hidden, the more permission it gives for the rest of us and the next generation doesn’t have to carry it. This I love that the Father You know, patriarchy edition talks about the sins of the father and what they’re talking about. They’re talking about the wounding, the wounding of the feminine, gets passed on to our daughters and our nieces and, and all of that so when we heal it for ourselves, we heal it for our Families seven generations deep.
Christine Gautreaux 35:03
I want to say something about this. There’s two things I want to say there’s a funny story I want to tell. But I also just want to speak to what you’re saying and the power of that work. I was lucky enough to do work. It sounds like a lot about what you’re talking about, probably 15 years ago, with a teacher in the north Georgia mountains. And at the time, I lived in Texas, and we had our first starter home, we knew we wanted to move, we were like we and I came to the mountains and did that work about clearing the clearing the contracts, clearing the Akashic Record doing all of that. I, we ended up moving across country, my husband got the best job of his life, I started my business. It I went from this little Texas kid who had no idea how I was going to do that, and doing this work. And like my whole world exploded in this amazing way. And then the other thing I will say is, I’ve been married 28 years now. And at the time, so that was probably we were about 10 years that we were at that point that you’re like, ah, anybody that’s been married that long nose, there’s a point that happens sometimes. And I did that work, and I cleared a whole bunch of things that had been handed down to me from my family that weren’t my husband’s but were being acted out between us. And y’all, we didn’t do marriage counseling, not that I’m opposed. I believe in marriage counseling. But I did this work and Akashic Record and all sudden, like, our whole relationship shifted. Beautiful and like, I am just, yes, this shit works. Any other funny story, I want to tell y’all about burning goals. You know how you get Facebook Lives that come up that tell you when somebody is going live and they put the title on there. I’m not going to call out who it was because I don’t want to embarrass them. But it was a it was a it was a Unity Church somewhere in the nation. And on New Year’s Eve, their Facebook Live post up, but instead of burning bowl, it started burning bow it had an extra I laugh appropriately about that
Unknown Speaker 37:25
that is funny. That is funny. I want to if I can just say what you’re talking about with breaking the curses, like seven generations going in social justice, we talk a lot about breaking, you know, generational curses and generational habits and that passing things down to your kids. And this is like right in line with that. Because if you can do it personally, every change that you make yourself ripples out to the people around you. So if you can do it, you know, personally, then so many other people get the benefit of that. It’s not just the people that are in your your family line. It’s like everybody around you.
Unknown Speaker 38:04
Yes, 100%.
Christine Gautreaux 38:09
Y’all, this is so good. So we talked about 2021. Before we Julie or Cecile, is there any other rituals or things that you do to end the year before we talk about visioning for the new year?
Unknown Speaker 38:23
Well, I the rituals I have at the end of the year, I kind of a combination of both. Every December and Mike in my Facebook group, my public, open free Facebook group, we do a ritual called the name your your ritual. And part of that ritual is we look back at the previous year, celebrate what has come through and release. And then we go ahead and look at what do we want to create in the coming year. And out of that it’s 10 days, there’s meditation every day. It’s, you know, as far as what people are doing out there, as far as challenges are list builders. It’s pretty intense, right? Um, and I have like so many people who do it. So we do this ritual. And then we take all that and we distill it down into a word or a phrase, that’s going to be the intention for the following year. And so we let it go, and I write now I write it up on my chalkboard so that I’m looking at it. And I’m saying, Am I living into this, this is my intention. Am I living into it? And then just yesterday, I let go of of last year of 2021. I erased it, and it’s waiting for me to put 2022 up there. And this is not a to do it’s not a goal. 2021 was the year of embodied magic. And so in everything I did, I was like, am I am I embody magic? Or am I embodying fear? Am I? Am I going to old paradigm? Or am I really trusting and believing in the new way that we are carving forward. And it really, it really drove me the other thing that it did was, I didn’t really have to figure out where the money was coming from for the year, it was gonna come through me being embodied in magic, right. And it did. And it did. So that’s one of the rituals I do. It’s something that I was taught years ago, and that I’ve really taken and refined and made this particular way of doing it my prop, my process really made it my own. And I love that process. It’s so helpful.
Christine Gautreaux 40:47
I love that Julie and I love and I want to just point out for our listeners and myself, how you write it down. So you see it every day. Because I know for me, that’s crucial when I do an intervention or a goal. And you know, studies show we can look those up. But you know, they show like when you speak it, write it in. I also say dance it because I think we’ve got to get it in our bodies. But every day like, Yeah, cuz life will get in the way, like we talked about in caregivers. And you know, if you’ve had no sleep for two days, or something like that, you may forget your intention for the year. So I love that, that you can look up I saw you look up for our listeners who aren’t watching us on video, she looked up and you could tell she was looking at her intention, or where it’s going for the year. So I love that. Thank you.
Unknown Speaker 41:38
I agree with that. I actually have mine written on my bathroom mirror. So I see it first thing in the morning.
Unknown Speaker 41:46
My husband does most of the house cleaning. If I wrote it on the bathroom mirror, he just clean it.
Christine Gautreaux 41:52
Clean it for me. The love of your life. Right. Well done. What is his name? We want to give him a shout out. Brian, Brian. Thank you, Brian, for Brian’s partner. Yeah, we do have male listeners of women connected wisdom. And we always like to give them good shout outs, because you know, it’s important. It’s important
Unknown Speaker 42:20
Well, guys, and it’s important that we recognize both the masculine and the feminine, because we all have masculine and feminine in us. And when we allow the masculine to serve the feminine, then the masculine is really doing its highest work. Right. So the feminine here is here to be creative, to be connected, to come up with solutions that have never been designed on this planet before. Or to remember the ancient solutions and bring them back. And the masculine is designed to serve and the masculine is eager to serve. Like, you know, if you’re in business, you gotta have the masculine, if you’re going to implement a plan, I didn’t have my intention up here all I want. And if I never send an email, nobody’s gonna know me. And we look at that, look at that in our real lives. Like, go into when you’re having sex. The masculine wants the feminine to be in pleasure. And that’s what brings pleasure to the masculine. It I mean, if you’re in a relationship with a decent
Christine Gautreaux 43:38
Yes, and and we encourage that right, it’s about wellness. It’s about wellness in I know, we were supposed to be talking about occupational wellness today. But, like, bring us back just a second. But it’s true because it impacts all areas of our lives, right? Yes. Love this discussion about the feminine and the masculine in our occupations and how there’s a difference and how tapping into it. I know I’ve been on this path a long time, Julie, so it’s not new to me, but I will be curious if it’s new to some of our listeners like to if they want to find out more like how do they find out more about like feminine archetypes and the how, what would you recommend to somebody who was just like what we’re talking about?
Unknown Speaker 44:37
I’d say join my free Facebook group, which is feminine business magic. So you can find me there. I also think there’s some really powerful other resources out there. And you know, I’m like drawing a blank right now. There are other Teachers and healers that you should be following Christina Murase, who talks about the dark, feminine, she’s fascinating, and really awesome person as well. So there there are resources out there.
Christine Gautreaux 45:18
And about one of the first books I ever read, and I recently re listened to it on a cross country road trip, women who run with the wolves. Yeah. Oh, yeah. STS work. And she’s such a storyteller about women archetypes in the stories. So I always recommend her to is if you’re or the dance of the Dissident Daughter by Sue Monk Kidd. Like, just if you’re if you’re just starting with female empowerment and feminine energies. There’s a ton of resources out there on
Unknown Speaker 45:52
Yes, a time. Yeah, I just I’m looking at the shelf I have up here, right. I have a weird combination of books up there.
Christine Gautreaux 46:03
Those are my favorite kinds of people. Can I tell you, Julie, like I love pre pandemic. It hasn’t been happening recently. But you know, when we used to go out and meet new people and go to people’s homes, we didn’t know. You know, that’d be one of my favorite things to do is check out their bookshelf and be like, Oh, all right.
Unknown Speaker 46:21
Interesting person.
Christine Gautreaux 46:23
I always love that. Y’all, I see you. I want to give you last question, if you have a last question. But I’m so enjoying this conversation, but I’m also paying attention to time.
Unknown Speaker 46:34
Yeah, actually, I had a question. And then you asked me about it, and it went right out of my head. I was holding one. You asked me, I’ll give you a second. Okay. It was something about balancing the feminine and the masculine, but I really don’t remember what it was. But it was something about the balance. Um,
Unknown Speaker 47:01
well, I can say about this, that when I was first learning this, and I had, you know, I came out of a really, really say, really, really, I came out of an abusive first marriage. Okay, when I came out of that marriage, I was like, I’m woman, I can do it all. I do not need help, do not offer. My husband is really a caretaker, my second husband, and his love language is acts of service. He’d be like, Oh, I’m going to cook dinner. And I’d be like, Oh, dang, that means I have to, like, go clean the bathroom or something, right? Cuz I’m going to be equal to Him. And when I realized that we have different strengths, different ways of expressing ourselves, different needs, and I could let go and let him it was such a relief. He had his every piece of content that goes out of my business now. Wow, that’s a strength of his. And it was so hard for me to let go and say, I will listen to you. This is okay. Sometimes he doesn’t get it right. And I change it back. But most of the time, the edits he makes are great. So I would say to people, it’s a practice, you start with a little step. You start with allowing, and then showing appreciation. Yeah, and so grateful you did that. You know, you feed it back, you fed me. I’m so grateful for that. Thank you so much. You emptied the cat litter. Oh my gosh, thank you so much. You edited this, I don’t know what I would do in my business without you. And you allow that and what happens is the feminine as the feminine rises, the masculine supporting her, also rises, contact. And so it really becomes this very beautiful synergistic exercise in how do we both raise ourselves and raise them in? And because we’re standing on them as we rise? They’re also supporting us. It’s not us or them. It’s us together. Yeah,
Christine Gautreaux 49:26
that’s beautiful. Julie, thank you so much for coming on today and having this conversation with us. Oh, thank
Unknown Speaker 49:33
you for having me and allowing me to just spill out whatever wanted to come through this has been right.
Christine Gautreaux 49:41
Right. That’s our favorite kind of nation. It really is. More shall be revealed. I am. Yeah, you don’t even know how much you’re speaking Cecile a nice language. I will talk We’re out of time, not because we don’t want to be transparent. But yeah, thank you so much. We will put in our show notes, wherever, where our listeners can find you and reach out
Unknown Speaker 50:09
and a link to download that. Pick that up booklet.
Christine Gautreaux 50:13
Yes, I know cuz you have a free gift. So let me let me tell our listeners about that. And also with you talking about you creating, what do you have coming up? Because if you like to create and launch things that the new year, what do you have coming up.
Unknown Speaker 50:27
So the next thing that we are launching is a four week course. And it’s called up your manifesting mojo to open the flow for income. Understanding that your income is only limited by your ability to receive. So we just need to open and widen our ability to receive. And that’s not always easy, simple. So that’s going to be working on
Christine Gautreaux 50:55
me. I’ll say that one more time, because it really I felt it like my chest I started Yep, direct. So I took a deep breath, cuz I’m very embody. So say it one more time, Julie, because I’m going to open into that just like go ahead.
Unknown Speaker 51:10
Your income is limited by your ability to receive. And so we’re going to work on how do we open, widen and deepen so that we can have more abundance flow through us, more wisdom flow out of us, and more connection to Source which is where everything is created.
Christine Gautreaux 51:37
Sign me up. All right. Hey, I’ll do it. I love it. All right, y’all. And for our listeners, Julie has very graciously if you will go to her website at Julie Foucher comm. And we’ll put that in our show notes. You can get the free download of the whys which rituals to up your vibration and raise your income. So jump on over to our website. Check it out. It’s beautiful. And I also put I’ll put the link to your photographer in our show notes because your photos like just the whole thing. Yum, yum, yum, yum.
Unknown Speaker 52:08
So good. She’s good. Well, thank
Christine Gautreaux 52:11
you. I hate to end it, but it’s time. So I’m gonna pop you back in the green room. And Julie, I’m sorry. It’s not in person. If it was there would be some really yummy tea and chocolate. But it’s so hopefully you have some of that at home. And we are so grateful for our conversation in the work.
Unknown Speaker 52:28
Yeah, thank you. Yeah,
Unknown Speaker 52:29
you need to be connected to you more. Oh, my man is
Unknown Speaker 52:37
that last thing she just said about your your income is limited only by your ability to receive
Christine Gautreaux 52:43
woof. I literally felt it right here in my chest. And I saw you I was like, Oh, I’m constricting. When I saw you do it that’s one of the good things about being an embodied like your body if you’re paying attention really tells you pay attention right there. Whoo. Whoo.
Unknown Speaker 53:08
Yeah. When she said it as that breathing for a second and I saw your body react.
Christine Gautreaux 53:14
To ask her to say to get a little. I know that like teachers have always taught me that like having hands out. You can’t see it on the screen. Because the way that but you know, we have one handout to receive and one handout to give and it just goes through us and right. I’ve always lived my life. But, you know, I’m realizing even if she said that, um, you know, the last couple of years have been a big challenge with the pain neck and the energy swirling so I can see how if we weren’t paying attention, we could start to constrict. Yeah, kind of like definitely have constricted, something because of being quarantined and things like that. So
Unknown Speaker 53:51
and what I thought about was, how people think about things. Because, you know, well, you might not know this, but I teach this, but I’m always telling people, you know, be careful about your thoughts. Because your thoughts become your words, your words become your actions and your actions become your reality. And so if you’re thinking to yourself, there’s not enough I can’t get enough clients and nobody’s ever gonna pay this, then that’s what you started saying to your friends and your you know, family and stuff. And then your behavior starts to react to that because you’re acting out what you’re telling yourself and then that’s your reality.
Unknown Speaker 54:24
Right? Yeah.
Unknown Speaker 54:27
So yeah, so as soon as she said it, I was like, Oh, what if I’ve been thinking lately?
Christine Gautreaux 54:30
Right. And it’s always interesting, though, you were talking about Foundation, right? Because I know you and I do this work. We do this work with our clients, we do community, and we still need to be reminded sometimes. Yeah, right. I think that’s the power of women being connected is yeah, we get to remind each other and hold each other gently accountable. Like we don’t have to be about it. We can write what what was that? Like? Everybody do that to be racist. leave because I talked about what I didn’t get done. And then right.
Unknown Speaker 55:06
When you did last year, like, we’re not talking about what you didn’t get done.
Unknown Speaker 55:12
What you didn’t do, what did you do? You know
Christine Gautreaux 55:16
what? To see. I mean, I think human beings generally have a tendency, but I think women more so like, always that to do this, there’s all Oh, yeah, let’s do this forever. Right. And, and just having that practice of really looking for the good and watching our thoughts. I appreciate a reminder. So yeah, well, what do you have coming up my friend that folks need to know about before we say goodbye? If they need to know about?
Unknown Speaker 55:44
Yeah, actually, next isn’t next weekend. I don’t know, the eighth, the eighth, my workshop, legislating racism is gonna happen. It’s a three hour workshop on Zoom, where I’m teaching people. This history of how racism was actually built into our, our laws in America, and where it came from, and how it’s not that people were racist. And then we created these racist laws is that people created racist laws to justify slavery and to, you know, hold on to the power that they had. And once people go through this workshop, and they I show them the source documents, and they actually, you know, learn this stuff, then they’re like, Oh, I get it. How do we undo this? Because what I tell people is, if a few men in power, can, you know, set this thing in motion and change the way all these people think then a few women can look at it and figure out how they did it and undo it.
Christine Gautreaux 56:45
Yes, ma’am. I took with you last year, right? Yeah, it is highly recommended. Highly recommended. I’ve taken a lot of anti racist classes, and Cecilia is the best. So thank you. No, and I don’t mean that just because you’re my friend now. I mean, because what you do that’s so different than other people is you are embodied you lead with self care, you lead in so you are able to take in the information. And not only that, you give us the facts, so then we can learn them, and we can share them. And that’s the whole point. And y’all her handouts. They’re sexy. I’m just gonna tell you, I like a good handout. Oh, thank you. Yeah. And that said about that. I want to tell folks, before we jump off about what Shannon and I have coming up next week, we are going to do a lot. So y’all next week is our one year anniversary of
Unknown Speaker 57:46
gratulations. Early as right, yeah, we
Christine Gautreaux 57:50
are recording our 50th episode. And we will be we’re going to record from our regular five to six. And then we’re going to jump back on at 630 for a live connected envision interactive vision board workshop. And we’d love to have you join us. So I put that link in our show notes. And you can sign up on Eventbrite and come play with us. Because you know, so often we get to see hear you listeners in our comments or honor our notes, but we don’t get to see you face to face. So this is a way that you can be on zoom with us and envision for 2022. So we’d love that. And the other thing I wanted to tell folks is it sparked Julie said something that sparked this for me, but I am one of the presenters. And you are too Cecile. So this is a perfect thing to talk about at the sovereign women living in 2002. I’ll put a link to that in the show notes too. Because it’s a two days TELUS Summit. And it really is about collaboration, creation and consciousness and replacing old patriarchal systems. So yes, it’s so yeah,
Unknown Speaker 58:59
that’s the last weekend in January, right?
Christine Gautreaux 59:02
It is it Yeah. Be here before we know it. So I will link to that in the show notes. And y’all I am just so delighted to kick off this new year. Thank you so much Cecile, for being here and happy again to Shannon and Happy anniversary,
Unknown Speaker 59:19
Shannon and we’ll see you next week.
Shannon M. 59:21
And don’t forget, be well be wise
Unknown Speaker 59:25
and the whole Bye y’all.
Unknown Speaker 59:34
